“I figured something out,” he said aloud. “The future is unpredictable.”
Hassan said, “Sometimes the kafir likes to say massively obvious things in a very profound voice.” –An Abundance of KatherinesOf the many varieties of pathetic she had been in her life, May was proud that she had never slipped into the I’m-obsessed-with-my-boyfriend kind – although this was largely due to the fact that she had never had a boyfriend. Not, she realized, she was already slipping into the behavior. She was going to be like one of those pathetic girls who had to call their boyfriends on their cellphone every two minutes. –The Key to the Golden Firebird
Really, I think my tippy state was a sign. I was supposed to see how much I was depending on Ben. I was supposed to realize that you can’t depend on another person to provide your own balance. –Lost It
We hadn’t actually said the boyfriend/girlfriend words yet, but we would. Soon. I hoped. In my head he was already my boyfriend. But then, a lot of things go on inside my head. –Brunettes Strike Back
“It was almost like I was expecting to get crushed.” –Brunettes Strike Back
You can’t just turn your heart off like a faucet; you have to go to the source and dry it out, drop by drop. –Someone Like You
“It’s fine,” I repeated. And whatever. It was fine. It had to be. –Looking for Alaska
“I was thinking about this girl you love so much,” she said. “And this place I love so much. And how that happens. How you can just fall into it.” –An Abundance of Katherines
No one in history had ever done less and yet been so wrong. –Girl at Sea
It shattered something inside of me that hadn’t been broken before. –The Boyfriend List
My problem is I can think whatever I think but I still feel the way I feel. –The Boyfriend List
Crushes hurt. –Red ((hey, umm, one of my goodest friends wrote this) (yes. i said goodest))
In my mind, I still think of him as being a cheater. Otherwise, he just met some girl he liked better, and it’s not as dramatic. –Two-Way Street
You should never start thinking about “what might have been” and you should also never start thinking about another boy when you’re heartbroken over someone else. –Two-Way Street
“Just be careful, Courtney. Because he is most definitely not emotionally attached to you.” –Two-Way Street
No matter what, that friendship is real. No matter how much you dissect it, or talk about it, or analyze it, it’ll always be real. –Tell It to Naomi ((this one makes me smile))
Love is many things, none of them logical. –The Princess Bride ((one of the greatest quotes ever))
Pete says you should listen out for time when you need to explain your feelings to other people, and ask yourself why you are doing it. He calls it “protesting too much,” like you only say it because you really really want it to be true, even if it isn’t. –serafina67 *urgently requires life*
“That’s love, right? When someone else’s pain hurts as bad as your own?” –Paper Hearts
What if there was somebody waiting to love him? What if there was somoen he would love again? Was it possible? –The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
It didn’t matter that in her heart Frankie knew she was smart and charming.
What mattered was that feeling of being expendable. That to Porter, she was a nobody that could easily be replaced by a better model – and the better model wasn’t even so great.
Which meant that Frankie herself was nearly worthless. –The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-BanksAnd I’m not made of stone, I’m made of flesh and blood and stupid, stupid emotions. –Let’s Get Lost

“And the moral of the story is that you don’t remember what happened. What you remember becomes what happened.” –An Abundance of Katherines
I’m talking about the ones who, for whatever reason, are as much a part of you as your own soul. Their place in your heart is tender; a bruise of longing, a pulse of unfinished business. Just hearing their names pushes and pulls at you in a hundred ways, and when you try to describe them even to yourself, words are useless. If you had a lifetime to talk, there would still be things left unsaid. –Sweethearts
No one who loves is immune to its fire. –The Sweet Terrible Glorious Year I Truly Completely Lost It
There are a few more quotes I wanted to put down but they’re not in my quote book yet and I’m too lazy to find them.

I really like the one about the heart not being like a faucet. Garh, learning to un-love someone *is* just like trying to clean up the mess from a flooded bathroom that has leaked two floors down. And you get permanent water damage and all sorts of things. Not pretty. And it takes so *long*! =[
Thanks for the quotes!

I like your taste in books very much… because it’s similar to mine. =] I really like the idea of a quote book. I’ve always been too lazy to do it, but I’m gonna try to create one.
I’m nifala from flickr btw… I just put jennila down without thinking last time.
